“The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before.” – Neil Gaiman

I painted this picture for my mum back in 2021. Despite me having been an artist ( and I call myself that because I have sold many paintings over the years ), I have never really felt confident with using watercolours. But I decided to give it a go having watched some You Tube vids and I wasn’t disappointed.
I really like the wet on wet technique. It’s so artistically satisfying to watch the burst of colours bleed and spread forth in directions on the wet paper. And then adding another color into that and seeing how they blend. It’s all a bit like magic really.
So, all in all, I was pretty pleased with the way the painting turned out.
With my Etsy shop, I’d like to stock it with all things pertaining to who I am as a person, my interests, passions and ideas. So I decided to list my poppy painting as a digital download. Ha! Figuring JPG, DPI ( dots per inch – I just learned that yesterday), sizing files, converting files from one format to another…..well, it was definitely so much easier to paint the picture in the first place! But I enjoyed the process of learning, none the less. Thank you to all those wonderful You Tube content creators for the many tutorials I watched yesterday. I mean, I’m not exactly a technophobe, but getting a digital file onto etsy was not something I’d done before. Anyway, I know now so it shouldn’t take me all day next time.

I’m going to be adding some more bits frequently, some digital, some handmade. Coming soon..beautiful chakra stones. These ones will be palm sized so could be good for a paperweight, or just as a beautiful addition to your home.
Bye…see you next time. 🙂
