This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. From struggling with the symptoms of complex PTSD to dealing with the loss of my mother, as well as the realization that I’ve been living with ADHD and Bipolar disorder all my life, it’s been a challenging journey. However, amidst all the turmoil, I found solace in an unexpected source – knitting.
I delved into knitting as a form of therapy, and it truly made a difference. By September, I had created an abundance of knitted items, prompting me to take a bold step and open a stall at my local market. Little did I know that it would turn out to be a resounding success.
On September 30th, I launched my stall in the picturesque town of Horsham, and I’ve been there almost every Saturday since. The overwhelming support and positive feedback from customers have been a source of immense gratitude. Not only do people purchase my knitted creations, but they also appreciate the aesthetic appeal of my stall and the choice of yarn colors. The warmth and friendliness of the community have contributed to my overall sense of well-being. Despite experiencing moments of emotional lows and PTSD triggers, I’ve persevered and found inner strength to carry on.
This weekend, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase my work at Leonardslee Gardens for their light show. If someone had told me a year ago that I would be trading there, I wouldn’t have believed it. Additionally, I’ve also been able to display my artwork, further expanding my creative endeavors.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, and I hope to continue on this positive path. This journey has been encouraging and has offered me a medium for self-expression and healing. I am thankful for the support I have received and look forward to what the future holds.
